  2. Are your classes safe?
  3. What should I expect in your classes?

Q. Do I have to be in good shape to do Kenpo Karate?

 A.   Absolutely not.  As you learn and progress in Kenpo Karate, you will develop strength, flexibility and coordination.  Being ‘in shape” will come, and is somewhat dependent on the time that a person puts into their training.

Q. Are your classes safe?

 A.  Classes are designed to be as safe as possible.  As with nearly any athletic activity, there is always a slight chance of injury, however in 15 years of teaching, we have never had a serious injury to date.

Q. What should I expect in your classes?

 A.  Our class format varies somewhat depending on the level of the student (beginning, intermediate or advanced).  Most classes start of with some basics, sets and forms (kata).  Then we learn and practice self-defense techniques, both in the air and with a partner.  We finish class off with a bang with an American Kenpo tradition, called the 'Technique Line'.  The Technique Line is a method of practicing self-defense techniques against various opponents, of different sizes and statures.  The Technique Line is critical in developing the Kenpo-attitude, and is a lot of fun to boot!
