What is Kenpo Karate?
American Kenpo Karate is
one of the most up to date martial arts systems in the world. We don’t
just teach self-defense, we ARE self-defense! Our children and Adult
programs are designed to teach discipline and confidence alongside
self-defense concepts and techniques that work.
What can Kenpo Karate do for me or my child?
Improve self-discipline and confidence
Kenpo Karate teaches
motivation, self-direction and self-confidence taught through personal
achievement. We will help you or your child to develop self confidence
and self motivation to complete whatever you choose to attempt in life.
You will see increases in confidence, energy and spirit. The
discipline and confidence learned in Kenpo Karate can be used to conquer
fears by taking on more difficult and advanced Karate techniques and
skills. That discipline begins to transform the student, and it begins
to transfer to all other areas of the students life. They will refuse
to give in to negative peer pressure. They will have a deeper respect
for rules and for other people.
Through this self
confidence, you will be fearless to open any door that life has to
offer.
Set and achieve Goals
Kenpo Karate helps
children and adults to set short-term, intermediate, and long-term
goals. Kenpo Karate provides these goals in the form of belt ‘tabs’
(short-term), color belt promotions (intermediate) and achieving a Black
Belt (long-term). We work with each and every student and/or parent to
assist the student in setting attainable goals. Students receive a
goal-setting form in their welcome package to help them track their
progress. If desired, we will work with parents to set goals for
progress in school achievement for their children as well. This can
provide a great incentive for students to excel in daily school class
work, and improve their education and grades.
Strength of Mind and Body
Increased strength in
body and mind comes while learning how to block, kick and punch. These
exercises promote mental focus, concentration and increase attention
span. They also build strength and flexibility of the body. The
greatest challenges that anyone may face, many times come from their own
fears and self-doubts. Physical and mental strength increase the
individual's confidence to battle these forces.
What can I expect?
When you or your child
signs up for classes, you can expect a fun and enjoyable learning
atmosphere. While we do teach and enforce discipline in our classes, we
also teach in a relaxed atmosphere. We try to get students to ‘react’
to a given situation, to do 'something' to defend themselves, not
necessarily to do something that is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. We are
dedicated to and truly care about teaching students to defend
themselves, should the situation ever arise. Kenpo Karate is one of the
most exciting, fun and up to date martial arts systems in the world. We
provide every student with a welcome kit, which provides guidelines,
goal progress, a home progress/practice manual and lots of additional
information about Kenpo Karate.
